Cookie policy

How this website uses cookies and similar technologies, what each category is for, and how you stay in control of them.

Effective date: 1 October 2026

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let a site remember things — that you visited before, what you prefer, or how you found the site. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, work in much the same way and are covered by this policy too.

Some cookies are set by us; others are set by third parties whose content appears on our pages — for example the embedded Google Maps on our contact page, or advertising partners such as Microsoft Advertising where ads are shown.

The categories we use

Category Purpose Duration
Strictly necessary Required for the site to function and to remember your cookie consent choice, stored in browser local storage under the site-specific key 6media-ne-consent. These do not track you and cannot be switched off through our banner. Consent choice: up to 12 months, or until you withdraw it via the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Preferences Remember choices you make, such as staying signed in to embedded content or any display preferences offered by third-party features on the page. Typically set by the third-party feature concerned; check the relevant provider's policy.
Analytics Help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from and how long they stay — so we can improve the content. Where analytics cookies are used, they operate on aggregated, non-identifying data. Where used, generally up to 24 months.
Advertising Set by advertising partners, including Microsoft Advertising, where ads are served on this site. Used to deliver, measure and personalise advertisements and to limit how often you see the same one. See our advertising policy for details and opt-out routes. Varies by provider; commonly up to 13 months, renewed on new activity unless you opt out.

How our consent banner works

The first time you visit this site, a banner appears at the bottom of the page explaining that we use cookies and offering two choices: Accept or Decline. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key 6media-ne-consent. Once you have chosen, the banner will not be shown again on future visits.

Accepting tells us you are comfortable with the analytics and advertising categories described above. Declining means we treat analytics and advertising cookies as not consented; strictly necessary functions continue to work either way.

How to withdraw or change your consent

You can change your mind at any time. Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page: it clears your stored choice and brings the banner back so you can select again. You do not need to tell us why, and changing your choice only affects this browser on this device.

Browser-level cookie controls

You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you refuse all cookies, accept only some, or clear stored cookies on a schedule. The steps differ between browsers:

  • In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • In Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.
  • In Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • In Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.

Please note that blocking some cookies may affect how parts of this site work — for example the embedded Google Maps on our contact page may not load correctly if third-party cookies are blocked.

Changes to this policy

If the way we use cookies changes — for example, if new tools or services are added to the site — we will update this page and, where the change is significant, prompt you to review your consent again. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version.
